Deep tissue massage therapy is primarily used for pain relief and the reduction of chronic muscle tension.
In a deep tissue massage, additional pressure is added to specific locations where muscles are particularly tight. The additional pressure tends to last a few seconds at a time and can be customized to meet the demands of the client.
Deep Tissue Massage:
Releases tension from deeper layers of muscle
Applies pressure for short periods of time (8-10 seconds)
Relieves chronic tension & pain
Breaks up scar tissue
Focuses on treating causes, not the symptoms
Results of the massage can be felt immediately at the end of a session
Relief from pain & tension longer lasting than Swedish massage for most individuals
"Jessica gives excellent service and attention to problems I received from an Auto accident. . . .I feel I have less pain and more mobility after a session with her. She goes out of her way to find different pain relief creams for me. . . I highly recommend her services."
